Rays of Light Dallas is dedicated to serving children with special needs and their families in the Dallas metropolitan area through support, relief, education, and love since 2009. Together with our volunteers, we strive to lend support and relief to these families through our respite care program called Night Lights. Funding from JSFF will cover the cost of nursery and security staffing at each site, as well as our annual Prom.

This funding allows us to provide critical support services for our families, and to offer our teens an amazing prom experience each Spring. United Rocks

Our mission is to promote physical, mental and social skills through the sport of rock climbing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The grant will support the current programming in the DFW area, support expansion to other locations in TX and other states in the US, and provide gear and uniforms to all of our team members.

We've seen so many success stories since we started in 2021. Our parents are so grateful and appreciate all of us every time they come to practice. Some of the success stories we hear are their kids focus, confidence and balance have improved. For some it's very difficult to make friends and at United Rocks, we are all one so they have the opportunity to be social and learn those skills, problem solving, strength, consistency, following directions, etc…the list can go on and on! With this grant we will support more kids and adults with IDD all over the US impacting not only the climbers during practice time but also in their family life, school, social events and outings. Thank you so much for believing in our mission and for your support! Mariana Steelsmith, President and Founder

ALSAC/St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. The grant from the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation will support Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The treatment of children with AML, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow and the second most common childhood leukemia after acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), is exceedingly complex. Chemotherapy is the primary AML treatment. A bone marrow transplant may be recommended for children who are at high risk for relapse or whose AML is resistant to treatment. To change the outlook for relapsed AML, St. Jude researchers seek to gain a deeper understanding of (among other things) the biological mechanisms that underlie its formation and why AML resists current therapies. New knowledge, thanks to grants like this, will help researchers develop more precise therapies that target cancer cells, while limiting short- and long-term toxicities to normal cells.

Jordan is an incredible competitor on the golf course — and he has a heart of gold when it comes to using his platform to give back to the community. We've seen it up close here at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital...We're so honored to be selected as a 2024 Jordan Spieth Family Foundation Partner. This generous commitment will fuel research to accelerate progress toward cures for acute myeloid leukemia and other childhood cancers while helping to ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. I AM a Golfer Foundation

I AM a Golfer's mission is to be a catalyst for community renewal and transformation in southern Dallas through the Programming, Preservation, and Promotion of the historic Cedar Crest Golf Course. I AM a Golfer Foundation's comprehensive junior golf program is structured around its three pillars of I AM a Golfer, I AM an Intern, and I AM a Scholar which brings young people from diverse and historically under-resourced backgrounds into the game, provides them instruction and resources to grow in the game (Golfer), an opportunity to gain real-world work experience (Intern), and the opportunity to further their education (Scholar). JSFF makes it possible for us to grow our outreach and expand both the quantity and quality of our impact here in southern Dallas. In 2024, nearly 500 member participants will be receive instruction, more than 20 internships will be held, and over $100,000 in college scholarships will be awarded to program participants with the support of the JSFF.

We are beyond thrilled to be a 2024 JSFF Community Partner. This grant will allow us to expand our capacity and continue in our mission to be a catalyst for community renewal through golf and golf-related activities here in southern Dallas. Specifically, we're excited about the opportunity to grow this year's programming to nearly 500 member participants, more than 20 internships, and over $100,000 in college scholarship awards. This level of community impact from a grassroots organization like ours would not be possible without the support of the JSFF. Ira Molayo, Founder and Vice Chairman

Operation Shower

Operation Shower's mission is to host joyous, awesome group baby showers for military families to ease the stresses of deployment and separation. Through these baby showers, we: (1) connect new and expectant military moms who are experiencing similar life events, (2) give high-quality gifts that are essential for a baby's first year, and (3) provide a platform for communities to show their love and appreciation for all that military families sacrifice. The JSFF Grant will be used to host an Operation Shower baby shower in the Dallas/Fort Worth area celebrating 30-40 expectant military moms whose spouses/partners are deployed, or who are active duty themselves. These deserving moms will have the opportunity to connect with other expectant military moms who are experiencing similar life events, receive high-quality gifts, participate in shower games/activities, and receive community support and appreciation.

Operation Shower is honored to partner with the JSFF to host a group baby shower for military moms in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For women who are expecting a baby and whose spouses may be deployed, and especially for expectant moms who are active duty, the impending arrival of a child can be both exciting and stressful. Operation Shower was created because typically military moms are the ones who hold it all together at home. This grant will enable us to give these moms our support, our appreciation, and an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful milestone together. LeAnn Morrissey, Founder and Chief Shower Officer

National Breast Cancer Foundation

NBCF’s mission is to help women now by providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services. In the U.S., a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes; however, according to the National Institutes of Health, U.S. military veterans are 40% more likely to develop breast cancer than the civilian population. National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Military Patient Relief Program will financially support veterans or active-duty breast cancer patients. These funds from the JSFF will allow service members facing barriers while undergoing treatment to receive support to overcome obstacles such as transportation, childcare, food, utilities, housing costs, etc.

“We know that women veterans have a 40% higher risk of developing breast cancer than the general population. Our partnership with Jordan Spieth Family Foundation offers direct aid to women in the military diagnosed with breast cancer. By removing the barriers of food insecurity, transportation, and financial stress of treatment, we are ensuring that women in the military have help and hope through every step of the breast cancer journey.” Kevin Hail, President & COO of NBCF
