Celebrating the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation at the 2015 Spieth Shootout

On Tuesday, October 27, the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation hosted the second annual Spieth Shootout at the Four Seasons Resort in Dallas, TX. It was a great day of golf, music and fellowship. The event was organized to celebrate the Foundation's work over the last year and its support of Special Needs Youth, Junior Golf and Military Families. Beneficiaries of the Foundation's support were very visible throughout the day.

Tuesday's charity tournament was held at TPC Las Colinas, the site of the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship, Jordan's first PGA TOUR event. Playing on an exemption, the 17-year-old made the cut and finished T16. On a beautiful fall day, groups were welcomed by Spieth at the historic Byron Nelson statue before taking off for the Texas shamble format tournament.

Each Each foursome was paired with a special guest of the Foundation, with PGA TOUR friends Zach Johnson, Rickie Fowler, JJ Henry and many others in the mix. Musicians Jake Owen, Wade Bowen and Pat Green all also played as well as former MLB catcher Ivan 'Pudge' Rodriguez and Texas Rangers coach Mike Maddux.

After the tournament, golfers enjoyed a poolside reception where Jordan presented trophies and prizes, including first place to partners and friends Team Under Armour. One of the greatest performance of the day came from a group of junior golfers who finished tied for third place. The team included a former Drive, Chip and Putt competitor and golfers representing The First Tee Greater Dallas and the North Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation.

That evening, in a Texas-sized tent under the stars at The Four Seasons, guests were treated to fantastic southern fare. Emcee David Feherty entertained the crowd with his colorful commentary before guests two-stepped to live performances by ACM award-winner Jake Owen and Texas Country star Wade Bowen. Silent and live auctions helped to raise funds for the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation. Attending in support of the Foundation were special guests including Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, many local PGA TOUR professionals and, most important, a table of military veterans who recently graduated from Honor Courage Commitment's 22Fellows program thanks to a gift from the Foundation.

Jordan, with the help from his sister Ellie and his parents, entertained guests and talked about how special the Foundation is to their family. "I am proud of a lot of things we accomplished on the golf course this year, but a day like this and the funds we are raising for great groups means more to me than I can put into words," Spieth told the crowd.

The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation would like to thank all supporters who made the event possible, specifically our major partners AT&T, Lagardere Sports, Perfect Sense, Robertson Griege & Thoele and Under Armour. Many people traveled from near and far to be a part of this great fundraiser, and Team Spieth is incredibly grateful.
