Jordan Spieth was back at the UT Golf Club Sunday afternoon to help kickoff his annual Jordan Spieth Championship.
“It’s nice to come to a place that got me there, to be able to come back and share the stories and the moments with the people that made it possible,” Spieth said. “It’s great to be back to what I consider my second home.”
It’s the second year for the two-time Major champion to host an American Junior Golf Association tournament at his alma mater. Spieth held a Q and A and put on a short clinic describing his pre-round warm-up routine on the driving range.
Afterwards, he participated in a closest-to-the-pin competition with four golfers who would be playing in the tournament, including Cole Hammer, a Texas commit, and Maddie Luitwieler, a UT signee.
