Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy

2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship

Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day Paired Together at Doral

For the casual golf fan who doesn't watch the PGA Tour until the Masters, perhaps, this is the year to make a change. This week's WGC-Cadillac Championship is the first event of 2016 in which all three members of the "Big 3" are teeing it up. Even better? They're going to be teeing it up together.

First- and second-round pairings were released on Tuesday, and as is custom at World Golf Championship events, the top three players in the Official World Golf Ranking -- Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, and Jason Day -- are in the same group. The must-see, marquee threesome has an 11:32 a.m. (ET) tee time off Trump National Doral's 10th hole on Thursday. Not that it's the only power trio.

Nos. 4-6, Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, and Henrik Stenson, will start on the first hole at 12:48 p.m. And then there's 7-9, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, and Adam Scott, fresh off his Honda Classic win, teeing off in the group behind Spieth-McIlroy-Day.

It's actually been a big struggle for the Big 3 since Jordan Spieth's eight-shot win at Kapalua to kick off 2016. Spieth is coming off a missed cut at Riviera, where he shot an opening 79. McIlroy is coming off a missed cut at the Honda and the worst final-round score (75) at a non-major the week before at Riviera. And Day has a missed cut and a T-11 in his two 2016 starts.

But that's just a small sample size. A more telling stat about how good this trio has been? They've won five of the past seven major championships. Yeah, we'll be keeping an eye on these guys come Thursday.
