PGA Tour Golfer Jordan Spieth Striking Gold On-And-Off the Course

Forbes — In his last three PGA Tour events he has finished tied for 16th, tied for 4th and tied for 19th, earning a total of $540,000 in the process.  No, the individual who walked off the greens with roughly half a million dollars in the span of a month is not Tiger Woods (who earned approximately $720,000 in the same time-frame).  Instead, the golfer who is on a get-rich-quick path is Jordan Spieth.  He just turned 20-years-old in July and he has already achieved a 13th place FedExCup ranking.  And his earnings do not begin and end with his success on the golf course.

Jordan Spieth made the decision to relinquish his remaining years at the University of Texas in favor of a professional career.  That choice was announced less than a year ago — in December 2012 — when Spieth (at the time only 19-years-old) said, “The decision to turn pro was a difficult one, but I’m looking forward to the challenge of competing at the highest level and accomplishing the many goals I’ve set for myself on and off the course.” Spieth has undoubtedly exceeded expectations as a professional golfer, but the real story may be what he has been able to accomplish off the links.
