The PGA Tour's emphasis on military support was eye-opening for Jordan Spieth during his whirlwind rookie year on Tour. With the opportunity to meet some of America's heroes week in and week out, Jordan decided that this would be an important part of his charitable endeavor. In May 2014, The Jordan Spieth Charitable Fund made an initial gift to the Wounded Warrior Project, a group that honors and empowers wounded veterans.
"It was very important to me that our focus with the Trust is on things I can really get behind, so we chose three pillars to form our outreach," Spieth said. "The third – support for military members and their families – was really inspired by the Tour's great work."
The WWP Mission: To honor and empower Wounded Warriors. The WWP raises awareness and enlists the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, helps injured service members aid and assist each other, and provides unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
