The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation and Operation Shower Celebrate Military Moms with Special Baby Shower

On Sept. 10, 2024, Operation Shower, a nonprofit organization, hosted a special baby shower for 30 military moms-to-be at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas. Thanks to the support of the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, the event honored both active-duty service members and the spouses or partners of deployed military personnel. Held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the “Hello Baby”-themed celebration offered expectant moms a unique opportunity to connect and celebrate the impending arrival of their babies while receiving much-needed support and gifts.

NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth news anchor Meredith Land served as the guest host and emcee for the event. Attendees were treated to a catered lunch, participated in a raffle, and received the highlight of the event: “Showers In A Box,” filled with high-quality baby products. These gifts were generously donated by the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, the Spieth family, and companies including Delta Children, Joie Baby, Emulait, 3 Marthas, and Under Armour.

Annie Spieth, wife of PGA Tour champion Jordan Spieth, expressed her excitement about the event, saying, "We were honored to partner with Operation Shower to express our appreciation to these courageous military moms-to-be for their service and sacrifice on behalf of our country." Supporting military families is a core mission of the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, and the event reflected their dedication to giving back.

Operation Shower, chosen as a 2024 community partner of the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, aimed to bring joy to military families during a crucial time in their lives. The event was the result of a grant from the foundation, as well as its ongoing commitment to supporting military families.

“For women who are expecting a baby and whose spouses are deployed, and especially for expectant moms who are active duty themselves, the impending arrival of a child can be both exciting and stressful,” said LeAnn Morrissey, founder and chief shower officer of Operation Shower. “Operation Shower was created because in the military, families serve too. For everything they do on the front lines or at home to keep America safe and free, these moms deserve our support, our appreciation, and an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful milestone together.”

The baby shower was part of Operation Shower’s broader mission to support military families, and it stood as a reminder of the sacrifices made by these mothers and their families. With the partnership of the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, the event was a memorable and meaningful day for all involved.
